Just do it

Posted in Uncategorized by FEG on July 30, 2007

Before I start working, I find that setting clearly the target for a specific short time, normally about 45 minutes, is the first step I must take; and then sitting down for another 10 minutes, about, to warm up my mind; I start with a very simple stuff that I can finish easily. Shortly, I feel comfortable, beginning to focus on the subject better. Until a point where I get tired, or I stuck, I lose my concentration. That is the time to leave my desk, take a short walk around my office: enter into the pounding time.

[x] 12.00:12.55 – SDOF BY GSVD
Result: Worst.
Note: It worked pretty good until I realized that my understanding on the matrix psi was not correct. And now, the whole idea seems not able to produce a better solution than that of the SVD. I begin to worry but I should focus all energy to this stuff for a couple of more days; I wish I can pull everything off the idea; and write something. Wish me luck.

[x] 13.00:13.30 – LUNCH

[x] 14.00:14.45 – SDOF BY GSVD
Result: Worst

[x] 15.00:15.45 – THIRD ROUTE
Result: Not so bad.

[x] 16.00:17.45 – SDOF BY GDVD
Result: On a hopeless attempt, I stepped back far to the idea of approximating a function with a set of functions which pose some characteristics that suitable for the solution; it did shed some light on a proper solution.

[x] 18.00:20.00 – DINNER

[x] 20.00:20.45 – SECOND ROUTE
Result: Awful

[x] 21.00:22.45 – SDOF BY GSVD
Result: Back reconstruction and the basic theory on the least-square. Solution seems ok.

[x] 23.30:24.00 – REVIEW
Result: Learning needs a delicate combination of taking in a new lesson and of pounding the lessonĀ  mindfully.
