According to an article in the current Nature magazine, on average, in Japanese the associate professor position is obtained at the age of 36.9 year old. I really have to work hard to get it.

Application to SU

Posted in Uncategorized by FEG on February 16, 2008

I have send the application to SU on last Friday, Feb. 14, 2008, just a day before the deadline. I will be very grateful if they accept my application; however, I still need to keep searching for a job anywhere else, just for in case they don’t accept me.

Getting things done

Posted in Uncategorized by FEG on February 9, 2008

Finally, I could convert the lecture of David Allen at Google into MP4 format, and then uploaded it to my iPod. I think I need to watch the lecture for a couple of times to know GTD a bit more. I read the book long ago, but I wasn’t thinking, at that time, the idea would be any different than any other personal time management, but it is different.

In my understanding, GTD teaches us two things: use our brain to solve the problem, and use a planner to put those problems in order. I agree that brain is suck in memorizing many things. And brings those things out of the brain allows me to maximize my brain to a better use. Good trick.
